crocheted dread tube pattern

well, now that i'm a full time toddler teacher, i've had much less time to make things, and even less time to share them on here. i've done a bit of knitting and crocheting this winter, but not much due to carpal tunnel. and sewn a few gifts here and there.

furthermore, i've been meaning to share some crochet and knit patterns i've created over the years. and with the hints of spring weather in the air it seemed a good time to post this fishnet headband pattern i created last year (even tho' i recently cut all my hair short and can no longer wear mine)

i designed this fishnet tube as a way to keep my dreads up out of the
way, but it's great for anyone with a lot of hair. i wanted something
cotton & open so i wouldn't get too hot.
i used:
4.5 mm hook
(A) Cascade yarns Luna (orange), (B) Manos del Uruguay Cotton Stria
(pink) (C) Cascade yarns Luna (red, used up some leftovers and added a
bit more color in the middle fishnet section)
but any combo of hook and yarn will work
Chain 63 in A (or other multiple of 3 to get the size needed)
1. join with slip stitch, ch2 (counts as 1st st), hdc around (63 sts),
join sl st.
2. switch to B, ch3 (counts as 1st st), dc around, join sl st.
3. switch to A, ch1 *ch3, skip 2, sc in next* repeat ** around, last
one ch3, sl st into 1st ch1 to join.
4. sl st2 (to get to middle of 1st ch3) now *ch3, sc into previous
round's ch3* to end, join sl st.
5. repeat round 4.
6. switch to color B, ch3 *dc into each ch st, skip all sc's*
repeat rounds 3-6 twice more (or more for bigger hair)
finish by switching to color A, hdc around
finished dimensions are 22 in around, and 6 in tall (unstretched)
