elven archer renn faire costumes

here's what we put together for our elven archer outfits for the fairy weekend of the renn faire we went to with my Mom in WA.
Eamon and I made this wool ranger's cowl together at a the Trackers cloak making workshop last winter.
These inspire me to want to play with scraps of leather and my bottle collection.
Mostly kiddo just enjoyed making big bubbles all afternoon next to the Punch and Judy tent.

(you may notice a lack of archery gear for the elven archers...we left it in the car, it was too hot, and you know daddy would've gotten stuck w/ more of the kid's stuff to carry)
The pattern for my jerkin/vest was based on the bodice of a shirt dress pattern i made based on a Victorian jacket i made, and apparently never got proper pictures of (and now it's too big for me)
Tuckered out.

a hoodie for 2nd grade

last week we went to scrap and i found all this amazing red and purple terry sweatshirt fabric. first i made myself a little 3/4 sleeve crop top (but why would i have pics of that...) and when kiddo saw it he declared he wanted a new hoodie, and drew a picture of which parts he wanted which color.
so here it is.

i only wish i had bought the grey and blue sweatshirt fabric too. but i'd been worried i might not get around to using it, as my fabric stash is already insane.
